Myopia Profile

Soft contact lenses.

Soft contact lens wear in children and teenagers has been shown to improve their confidence, satisfaction and ability to participate in activities, with myopia control designs offering the additional benefit of slowing myopia progression.

Soft contact lenses for myopia control include dual-focus, multifocal, extended depth of focus and other novel ring focus designs. Most of these designs have been developed specifically for slowing myopia progression in children and teens, while some are also used for presbyopia. For myopia control, soft contact lenses offer the dual benefit of correcting as well as controlling myopia. Efficacy appears to vary between designs, and full-time wear is recommended for optimum myopia control outcomes.
