Published: Dec 30, 2020

Myopia Profile Academy announces Orthokeratology Fundamentals, an innovative, flagship online course for getting started in fitting orthokeratology.

Orthokeratology Fundamentals is a comprehensive, six hour self-paced course, covering everything a novice fitter needs to know from understanding core concepts, collecting quality clinical data, identifying ideal candidates through to the initial fitting process and beyond.

The course is designed for an international audience, on a topic which is universal to primary eye care, and is accredited for continuing education in the following countries.

  • Australia: 6 self-recorded learning hours
  • New Zealand: 6 general points, activity 50238
  • United Kingdom: 6 CET points for Optometrists and Contact Lens Opticians, 5 CET points for Dispensing Opticians
  • USA/Canada: 6 COPE approved hours, ID 69923-CL.

Accessing the foundational learning needed to get started in OrthoK can be a challenge for eye care practitioners, traditionally relying on attendance at a conference or in-person training session. Orthokeratology Fundamentals online course makes commencing and growing an OK practice accessible and available on any time schedule.

The first hour of the course is available for free, and Myopia Profile Academy aims to increase accessibility to eye care practitioners right across the world through providing accessibility pricing for those from lower income regions. More information can be found on the Orthokeratology Fundamentals course page.
